At a Glance: This article explains how to create and manage Custom Formulas in Apptrove, enabling you to define your own KPIs using existing metrics and operators.
Overview
The Custom Formula feature allows you to combine multiple metrics with mathematical operators to create a KPI that suits your specific business needs.
With this feature, you can:
Build formulas for advanced performance tracking.
Use operators like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Apply formats like percentage, number, or currency.
Display these formulas directly in your custom dashboards.
Steps to Add Custom Formula
Step 1: Accessing Custom Formula
In the Apptrove dashboard, go to Settings → Custom Formula.
Click Add Formula to create a new one.
Step 2: Creating a Formula
When creating a new formula, fill out the following:
Formula Name – A descriptive name for your formula.
Formula – Built in two steps:
Select Operators: Choose from
+,-,*,/,(,).Select Metrics: Choose from available performance metrics or events.
Format – Select how the result should be displayed:
Percentage
Number
Currency
Status – Enable the formula immediately or keep it disabled for later use.
Click Save once complete.

Steps to Add Custom Formula in Dashboard
Step 1: Go to Custom Dashboard.
Step 2: Click Add Dashboard and set up its details.
Step 3: Inside the new dashboard, click Add Widget (top right).
Step 4: Enter:
Title and Description
Group By (optional)
KPI – Select your custom formula KPI from the list.
Your custom formula widget will now display data based on your defined calculation.
